Mentioned in the Domesday book in 1086, Brighton has evolved over the years into a popular spot for day-trippers. After French raiders sacked the town in 1514, Brighton was destroyed. All that is left from the sixteenth century is the area known as ‘The Lanes’, a colourful hub full of stores, cafes and restaurants where street performers delight those catching a break from exploring the area.
